This society of medicority has enable many many incompetant jerks and massachusetts does it best, no question. In Waltham, MA the king is one of the most popular slumlords in town Phil Ballo of Ballo Family Trust.
A year ago my stove caught on fire and Phil told me he'd fix it needless to say a year later I had to call the Waltham Board of Health to get Phil out of his chair at FoxWoods to DO HIS JOB!!
Here are two sample letters to the Waltham Board of Health which you could use as a template if in a similar situation.

Good Morning Waltham Board of Health.
I came home to find a huge sticky guey mess on my floor in the shape of drag marks from the stove being moved. Two hours later I received a note under my door stating that the "fire hazard" of an oven will not be replaced but instead the same part that caught on fire was replaced. The note states that the Board of Health involvement made the stove repair an "emergency" and that is why the repair was done without proper notification. The note went on to demand rent in full for this month and refused to allow me any repayment of my monies I have been forced to spend to eat as I have been unable to prepare food in my apartment for six days as of today. Note continues to lie about having tried to call me and I have my phone records to prove it as I have repeatedly provide my correct phone number.
Please advise on any further action needed on my part to bring my apartment into health code and fire safety compliance. Also I am now having complications with my renters insurance due to this situation and need replacement stove immediately.
Have a good day,

Hi Waltham Board of Health,
Thanks for the return call Monday and I did get your notice in the mail. Thank
you.
Just wanted to check in as I came home today to find some sort of electrical
meter in my apartment kitchen on the counter and the fuse box open. I have not
received any calls about work being done or a working stove being installed.
However the stove is still not fixed plus now the burners or outlets in the
stove are not able to be used. If anything else happens, I will let you know.
Also now that I do not have any kind of stove I am going to hold onto the rent
until I do have a working stove as that is my understanding of my rights.
Thanks again and have a good day,

Do you need help?? How do you know?? Who do you ask??
Just found this great new site where in just a couple clicks a user can post a question to a expert for their opinion FOR FREE. Find out first if it's worth a second medical opinion or a trip to interview a lawyer.
My question and answer is below.

My question and answer is below.

| Subject | mistake or malpractice? |
| Question | Hi, I went in for a crown two years ago and ended up with a hole drilled into my skull. In order to suture the hole in my soft palette my jaw had to be forced and held open. Today I still have daily jaw pain which I am told by experts at Tufts Craniofacial Pain Clinic will not go away ever even with dental appliances. And now I have to get the crown replaced for the third time. Obviously there are more details, but why am I paying for the treatment? Is this malpractice? Thanks. |
| Answer | Yes. You probably have two defendants, that is if two dentists worked on you. The first dentist who went through the skull, actually the top of your mouth (I forget what that is called, palate?) that required clamping your jaws open so you got (I guess) a temporo/mandibular injury. It is this second manipulation that is causing your pain. I wonder what the extent of injury is that the Pain Clinic people think can not be helped. Well, if you file a lawsuit and get a good dental malpractice lawyer, you may learn more about your injury. You hear of treatment for that temporo/mandibular pain so you should not give up hope for that. It has a well known set of signs. Your lawyer should start out with a dental and facial surgery expert, that is a special expert within the dental profession, and you may get some help from him. Be sure your lawyer knows what the Tufts people said. Ask your local Bar Association for a list of dental malpractice lawyers. Sometimes they are listed in the Yellow Pages, but start with the Bar Ass'n. You should not have too much trouble finding a lawyer because pain that can not be 'cured' is worth some bucks. Even a jury will probably see that you are in trouble. |

You are the only one responsible for your care...
Since August 2006 I have lived each day with constant pain in my head, neck, jaw, and throat. I have swallowed a horrible drainage all day long and listened to my right ear pop everytime I inhale, exhale, or swallow.
I have gone to doctors consistently since this first began reporting the same symptoms and follow through on every thing they have told me. Finally I found a "House"-like dentist who didn't take my lawsuit into her diagnoses and the problem is now identified.
For twenty months doctors have made diagnostic suggestions because the infection under my crown and TMD symptoms couldn't be separated. Once the TMD was being treated the symptoms left clearly showed and infection under a crown causing muscular issues, popping/swelling in my right ear, and drainage into my throat. And it took her about 10 minutes.
Lesson being no matter how many people comment on how many doctors you consult, keep going until you know that the proper diagnoses is found.
You are the only one whom will live in pain, loose your job, loose sleep, not be able to participate in sports or socializations, go into debt, etc, etc, etc.

And never forget the doctors are worried about their well being NOT YOURS!

Truth on the Internet
Everyone is aware that some of what is on the internet is not true. Some of the "real" movies are fake, avatars look nothing like thier owner, and there is information displayed on web pages that is either false or emotionally inflated.
However I have always relied on the sites which allow users to share their opinions. I do much research on just about everything online but stick with known sites as I tend to have more faith in their accuracy. This is why I wanted to speak out about this issue as I has found CitySearch to be a dishonest company.
There is the story...first I wrote a review of a "medical professional" about eight months ago. This "medical professional" physically violated me then laughed in my face. The insurance company insisted that I return to this "medical professional" under the threat of me having to pay both bills. Citysearch had my review posted for eight months and suddenly two weeks ago decided they would not allow to share this information. Funny how when I check their site about this "medical professional" there are other reviews stating the same thing...not from me.
What horrible people to help this butcher of a "medical professional"...same thing as hiding a child rapist.
